OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2009. State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ JSC National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and OJSC Research-Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod entered into a Memorandum on Cooperation.

Under the Memorandum, Vnesheconombank is to consider the possibility of financing the construction of a new rail carriage building works in the Republic of Kazakhstan to be built by OJSC Research Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod jointly with JSC National Corporation Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

The new production facility’s capacity is expected to amount to 3000 freight wagons, with 5000 wagons per year in the long run. Production will be in line with international ecological standards. The Research Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod jointly with the National Corporation Kazakhstan Temir Zholy intend to develop a feasibility study and conduct a design and d survey work by May 2010, complete the construction of the production facility and purchase equipment by July 2011 and achieve the facility’s rated capacity by July 2012.

The implementation of this project will help to promote the integration process of CIS countries, renew the rail carriage fleet of Central Asian railway networks and attain a new level of standards in rail carriage building.
