OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2009. EuroChem has summarized the work performed under its Nevinnomyssk Environment and Human Health grant program. A round-table discussion on these social projects was held in Nevinnomyssk as a City Day event. Organizational support by the Administration and the personal input and public initiatives of Nevinnomyssk’s Mayor, Konstantin Khramov, has helped ensure the program’s success.

EuroChem, the municipal authorities and non-commercial entities have joined hands since 2007 to implement 24 projects at a total cost of RUR 16 million.

Over thirty-thousand Nevinnomyssk residents have benefited from the program. Schools, kindergartens, health care, educational and other social facilities, public organizations and local mass media are among the fifty-five municipal organizations that have participated. More than 150 people have completed training in social project management, and 3,500 volunteers have assisted in implementing the projects.

As a result, Nevinnomyssk residents have gained experience in project implementation and have learned new ways to interact with authorities and the business community.

EuroChem’s grant competition technology has enabled extremely precise targeting of its allocations with the maximum of efficiency. Participants in the round-table discussion noted that the grant recipients had learned to raise additional funds to co-finance their projects, attracting an additional 54 kopecks for each ruble received.

Experience with the program has shown that true cross-sectional and interagency cooperation has effectively been achieved in Nevinnomyssk, and that project-oriented social partnerships require strengthening and further development.
