OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2009. Japan Tobacco International has started supplying Winston cigarettes in a new pack, produced by OOO Tabak-Invest under a licensed production agreement, to the Belarusian retail network.

Tabak-Invest uses a new packaging line supplied by Hauni-GD, with a capacity of 4.5 billion units a year, to make Winston cigarettes in new packs. JTI had provided free aid for Tabak-Invest to acquire the line.

The new pack has caused a change in the name of some Winston varieties – Winston Lights, Super Lights and One were replaced by Winston Blue, Silver and White. Japan Tobacco International started licensed production at Belarus’ OOO Tabak-Invest in 2005. In July 2009, JTI launched Monte Carlo Super Slims production at OAO Grodno Tobacco Factory Neman.
