OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2009. The first joint cultural project of Sevmash, observation team of the Republic of India, municipal administration and municipal museum of local lore is an exhibition devoted to the famous family of artists, the Roerichs, was opened at the municipal museum of local lore on the 16th of October.

The imitations of paintings and photographic documentation, which the St. Petersburg State Museum - the Institution of the Roerichs – shared with us, are presented at the exhibition. The works of Suresh Lande, the officer of the observation team, and children of the Indian seamen complete the exhibition.

"Today is a historic date in the life of our town. It is a great fortunate that we can open and visit this exhibition - Vasiliy Ugryumov, the Deputy Director General of Sevmash for Personnel, said in his speech. - The exhibition will provide an opportunity to rethink our relationships with the Indian friends. It will be easier for us to solve the issues arising between India and Russia".

Mr. Madusudanan, the Head of Observation Team, in his turn thanked everybody who took part in arranging this exhibition, and noted that Sevmash is the principal designer of the Navy of India. Besides the Indian guests presented a picture, made in the national style, to the municipal museum of local lore.
