OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2009. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 1,023,000 Belarusian rubles (Br) [equivalent to USD 376.4] in September 2009, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage edged down 2.3% on the month. In the first nine months, the average wage increased 0.6% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached 1.337 million rubles in September, in the Minsk Region 988,040 rubles, in the Gomel Region 964,400 rubles, in the Grodno Region 946,200 rubles, in the Brest Region 915,800 rubles, in the Vitebsk Region 912,996 rubles, and in the Mogilev Region 909,200 rubles.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged 1.112 million rubles, in construction 1.47 million rubles, in transport 1.174 million rubles, in telecoms 1.129 million rubles, in agriculture 835,400 rubles, in trade and public catering 918,600 rubles, in healthcare 774,400 rubles, in education 674,100 rubles, in science 1.388 million rubles, in sports 1.383 million rubles, and in culture 735,970 rubles.
