OREANDA-NEWS. November 06, 2009. "Antimonopoly regulation should replace hard forms of state administration, which hamper economic development", believes Igor Artemyev, the Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

According to Igor Artemyev, FAS continuously advocates reducing administrative burden on business and the "second antimonopoly package of laws" is for two thirds aimed against unlawful actions of the authorities at different levels, which tend to restrict competition.

"Tightening the antimonopoly legislation for business is caused by the fact that in Russia there are unscrupulous companies that get used to employ their monopolism for their own ends", thinks Igor Artemyev.

At the meeting with the Association of European Business, the Head of FAS Russia pointed out that the Antimonopoly Service is looking at a possibility to not apply "turnover fines" for such violations of the antimonopoly legislation that are not directly restrict competition.
