OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2009. On November 17, 2007 the official opening ceremony for the specialized food exhibition "Peterfood 2009" was conducted at "Lenexpo" exhibition complex.

The right to open the exhibition was granted to Dmitry Sivitsky, the head of the Embassy Department of the Republic of Belorussia in St. Petersburg, Igor Ilyukhin, the first deputy chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for the Economic Development, Industry and Commerce, and Sergey Alexeev, the director general of JSC "Lenexpo" and the president of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

- This exhibition demonstrates us the production,  brought from different Russian Regions, Belorussia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Italy, Holland, China and other countries, - noted Mr. Ilyukhin in his speech at the opening ceremony.

Dmitry Sivitsky marked that the number of Belorussian participants had been growing from exhibition to exhibition.

He also made a diplomatic joke saying that 'due to the efforts, made by the Russian Quality Control Department, Byelorussian food manufacturers are always on the alert and their products meet all required quality standards'.

Natalya Prokopovitch, the Ukrainian Consul General in St. Petersburg, and Zhumabek Kenshimov, the Consul General of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg, also gave a speech at the opening ceremony. Mrs. Prokopovitch stressed that the Ukrainian manufacturers were interested in the exhibition because it gave the opportunity to meet the representatives of trading networks.

-Regional retailment interaction with manufacturers is based on friendly cooperation ; we are ready to extend the number of our shelves for your produce, - said Mrs. Kanunnikova, inviting the participants of "Peterfood 2009" to tight cooperation.

The Russian Union of Independent Trading Networks has several dozens of retail networks all other Russia.

Grigory Zabrovsky, the president of St. Petersburg Union of Food Enterprises, expressed his desire to have products in the shops of the same high quality as they were demonstrated at the exhibition. He believes that various exhibition projects and tight cooperation between the retailers and manufacturers will make for it.
