OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2009. Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) plans to open a branch in Kazakhstan in 2010. It became known during the press conference in Astana on Friday, devoted to 50th anniversary of AIT.

The President Said Irandost of AIT said the Institute is working on the involving the Central Asian countries to actively promote their higher education in science and technology, which is a long-term mission of the institute.

During the meeting a memorandum on the relationship between “New University of Astana" JSC and AIT on the academic and research activities was signed.

 “It is important for us to have such key partners as AIT,” the first Vice-President Maksat Mamashev of “New University of Astana” noted.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is located in Bangkok (Kingdom of Thailand). AIT is a one of the leading institutions of Asia-Pacific region in the field of engineering, technology, management and sustainable development. Institute celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
