OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2009. Freight One has optimized the transportation of coal along the Western Siberia railway by increasing its share of two-way operations to reduce the light running of railcars.

In accordance with the proposed schemes, Freight One railcars deliver baking coal from the Antonovskaya treatment plant, JSC Mezhdurechie, JSC Raspadsky Ugol, JSC Kuzbassarazrezugol and JSC Belovopogruztrans from Bardino, Kiizak, Mezhdurechensk, Bochaty and Belovo stations for the largest producer and exporter of coke JSC Altai-koks (in the town of Zarinsk). After the coal is unloaded at the companies, the wagons are loaded with coke and continue to Novolipetsky metallurgical combine. They leave the combine with products destined for consumers. In October the Novosibirsk branch delivered around 140,000 tonnes of coke to JSC NLMK.

Under this scheme Freight One delivers coal from the company SUEK from Leninska-Kuznetska station to the KARO treatment plant (Cherkasov Kamen station). After this the cleaned coal is dispatched in the same wagons to the Russian ports of Murmansk, Avtovo and Vanino for export.

One more haulage scheme is the dispatch of coal from Zarinskaya and Biryulinskaya staions to Berezovskaya treatment plant and then to the KOKS plant in Kemerovo. The next stops for Freight One’s railcars carrying clean coal are Prisady (Moscow railway) and Vladisvostok (Far Eastern railway) stations.

“The newly-introduced logistics schemes allow the company to decide a number of tasks: in accordance with the requests from enterprises for the quick delivering of vital goods using two-way operations to load and unload railcars, it is most efficient to use company railcars to take account of the optimal utilization of the enterprises’ output and the connecting stations on the Western Siberian railway and to reduce the amount of shunting operations,” underlined Evgeniy Dolzhenko, director of the Novosibirsk branch of JSC Freight One.
