OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2009. It was the first time that EuroChem subsidiary Nevinnomyssky Azot participated in the “Collective Agreement, Production Efficiency – Basic Elements of Protecting Employees’ Social and Labour Rights” competition, and the company won in every nomination.

The competition was organised by the Stavropol Territory Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the territorial Trade Unions Federation, and the Business Congress of the Stavropol Territory. Over 140 organisations participated representing all forms of ownership and operating across all spheres of business. The most significant indicators that influenced the competition’s results included salary levels and timeliness of payments, industrial injuries and occupational illnesses, financial support for employee development, consistency and continuity of learning processes and advanced training for employees, social benefits and guarantees, and support for the company’s veterans.

The competition involved two nominations: “A Stavropol Territory organization with high social efficiency and outstanding achievement in developing social partnerships” and “The best manager of the year providing social protection for employee labour rights”. The participants were assessed based on company documentation and inspections by representatives of the awards committee.

Along with the organisation’s overall high performance assessment and its Executive Director’s contributions to the development of efficient social partnership mechanisms, the committee emphasized the active role of the trade union organisation at Nevinnomyssky Azot which succeeded in quickly uniting employees under the auspices of Roskhimprofsoyuz (Russian Trade Union of Chemical Industry Employees) and held productive negotiations with the employer. The result of these joint efforts was an exemplary collective agreement and the informal title of “most socially responsible employer”.
