OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009. Following the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) is inspecting whether the increase of ex-works and retail prices for antiviral medicines is justified, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia and its regional offices are inspecting economic entities, who have more than 35% share on the retail markets of medicines, products of medical purposes and relate goods in municipal districts and town districts, or exercise collective dominance, as well as organizations that operate in in-patient medical and preventive treatment facilities.

Should any antimonopoly violations be revealed, regional offices of FAS Russia will impose administrative charges upon the heads of organizations and legal entities that breached pricing procedures for medications.

It is expected that the inspection will be completed within a month and the findings will be disclosed in the beginning of 2010.
