OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009. The Gomel City Executive Committee and the Armavir Municipal Administration (Krasnodar krai, Russia) signed a cooperation agreement in Gomel on 25 November. The document was signed by deputy head of the Armavir Municipal Administration Alexander Rudenko and Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee Viktor Pilipets.

According to the sign agreement, the sides will support the development of the bilateral cooperation in economy, education and culture. The two towns will exchange delegations to study the experience of the work of municipal services.

Armavir is one of the biggest industrial centers of the Kuban region of the Russian Federation. Its population is 208.6 thousand people. There are about 180 big and middle-sized companies in Armavir. They are mainly engaged in the machine construction, metalworking, chemical and food industry.

Since 1998 Gomel has become the public and political center for developing the interregional ties between Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. In September 2009, the Gomel City Executive Committee signed the cooperation agreement with the Solomensky Regional State Administration of Kyiv (Ukraine).
