OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2009. Nordea Bank, in cooperation with MasterCard and the airline airBaltic, launched the BalticMiles MasterCard merging international credit card with an airline loyalty programme, reported the press-centre of Nordea Bank.

„Nordea clients travel a lot, both professionally and for leisure. Knowing our clients, we are now offering a product that combines a credit card with loyalty flight miles,” said Olavi Pakkonen, head of retail banking at Nordea Bank Estonia.

„In cooperation with Nordea and MasterCard, we have launched a unique product – a Pan-Baltic loyalty programme and credit card. Every purchase made with BalticMiles MasterCard earns points that can be used for free flights, spa visits, hotel accommodation,” said Tero Taskila, sales manager of airBaltic.

The new product serves as a typical credit card and is the first credit card in the three Baltic States that allows spending miles collected with purchases on different products and services.
airBaltic, Nordea Bank and MasterCard offer card owners a number of additional benefits. The first six months are free of the monthly fee. Additionally, the card offers the longest interest-free period in the market – 55 days. Card holders also benefit from travel insurance.
BalticMiles MasterCard can be ordered on the web at http://www.balticmiles.com/ or by filling the application form on an airBaltic flight, at airBaltic ticketing offices or business lounges, at Nordea branch offices or in Nordea online bank.
