OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2009. This October the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) raised gas supplies to the domestic market by 5.065% against September (when fall was 1.6% versus August (decline: 40.6%) .

Since this July SOCAR started running national gas operator Azeriqaz CJSC (now it is a SOCAR production association of the same name).

SOCAR reports that in October gas supplies to the domestic market totaled

490.95 million cu m versus 467.28 million cu m in September, 475.03 million vu m in August, 800.29 million vu m in July, 793.84 million cu m in June 2009 and 1.08 bn cu m in December 2008. For Jan-Oct 2009 supplies totaled 7.496 bn cu m versus 10.767 bn cu m in 2008.

This October the former main gas consumer, Azeriqaz CJSC, did not receive gas as well as in August and September, but in July it was supplied 466.12 million cu m against 497.56 million in June of the year and 537.95 million cu m in December 2008. For Jan-Oct 2009 supplies to the former gas operator made up 3.1 bn cu m, although by 1st August the figure was 3.576 bn cu m versus 5.8 bn cu m in 2008.

This October energy operator Azerenerji OJSC received 282.4 milion cu m of gas from SOCAR against 274.63 million cu m in September, 290.46 million cu m in August, 334.17 million cu m gas in July, 296.27 million cu m in June 2009 and 544.76 million in December 2008. For Jan-Oct 2009, supplies for Azerenerji reached 3.6 bn cu m against 4.95 bn cu m in 2008 and the operator became the country’s main gas consumer.

In connection with launch of independent supply operations at the domestic market SOCAR informed that this October it supplied to the population 109.9 million cu m versus 100.75 million cu m versus 105.7 million cu m in August and for Jan-Oct of the year 434.8 million cu m.

SOCAR’s supplies to industrial sector totaled 73.48 million cu m versus 67.89 million cu m in September, 57.96 million cu m in August and for Jan-Oct of the year 254.4 million cu m, to public utility & budget consumers 5.96 million cu m against 4.99 million cu m, 4.62 million cu m and to others 19.16 million cu m versus 19.05 million cu m, 16.25 million cu m and 46.46 million cu m.
