OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2009. “The President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Belarus for official visit on Wednesday. On arrival, President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan met with the President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus,” the press service informed.

A wide range of issues on all spheres of bilateral relations was discussed at the meeting. As it was noted during the meeting, the current visit is of a breakthrough character. The two sides had prepared 30 specific joint projects amounted to USD  3 billion to be realized in Kazakhstan.

The Presidents also discussed the course of preparations for the Customs Union between Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia to be started from the 1st of January, 2010 and prospects for further development of the Eurasian Economic Community.

The two Presidents shared views on topical issues of foreign policy and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
