OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2009. On Thursday Depository Clearing Company (DCC) and SWIFT signed in Brussels a memorandum on promotion of Alliance Lite, new product offered by SWIFT, to DCC clients.

Alliance Lite is an Internet-based connectivity product that provides a direct, secure, and low-cost access to SWIFT. It is designed for new, low-volume SWIFT customers. Alliance Lite allows prompt and easy connection to SWIFT and exchange of information in accordance with international messaging standards. Customers can access Alliance Lite by using a standard internet connection with a SWIFT-issued hardware security token. No additional installation of SWIFT software is required. AutoClient is used for communication with business applications. Alliance Lite contains embedded directories of BIC-codes, ISO-codes of countries and currencies and a directory of clearing codes of over 60 countries.

An agreement on the use of Alliance Lite is another step in development of DCC's electronic document interchange with its clients. DCC traditionally allows its clients to use all EDI channels, including SWIFT, with a view to promote application of ISO messaging standards. The new SWIFT product makes it possible to get companies which do not need costly means for transfer of huge amounts of information to apply international standards.
