December 01, 2009.  “Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company” JSC has successfully undergone the first supervision audit of Integrated Management System (IMS) certified for compliance with international standards requirements in terms of quality management system (ISO 9001:2008), environmental management system (ISO 14001:2004) and occupational health and safety management system (OHSAS 18001:2007).

Based on the audit results, KEGOC IMS is recognized as effective and having major continuous improvement mechanisms stipulated by international standards.

IMS covers performing the functions of System Operator in electric power industry: rendering system services to wholesale electricity market entities for electricity transmission via the National Power Grid, technical dispatching and arrangement of electricity generation – consumption balancing.

In the course of the audit a high motivation level of the management and personnel was noticed in terms of IMS support and improvement. Examples of KEGOC strong points are as follows:

• Management leadership;

• Allocation of required resources for IMS development;

• Identification of objectives in terms of quality;

• Involvement of personnel through responsibility and authority distribution.

Confirmation of IMS compliance certificates (gained in August 2008) is the evidence of KEGOC national company successful activity that ensures sustainable internal development, high level and quality of services rendered to customers.

The audit was conducted by OJSC “Intercertifica-TUV” in conjunction with “TUV Thuringen” (Moscow) which is a partner of TUV CERT certification body of TUV Thuringen e.V. (Germany) registered company.
