OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2009. Turkish Airlines operates scheduled daily flights by Airbus A320 from Moscow Airport Domodedovo to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport located in the Asian part of the city.

The flight is operated according to the following timetable:

TK 1031            Istanbul (Sabiha Gokcen) (11.10) – Moscow (Domodedovo) (15.10)         

TK 1032            Moscow (Domodedovo) (16.10) – Istanbul (Sabiha Gokcen) (18.10)         

It is the first scheduled passenger flight to Istanbul (Turkey) from Moscow Airport Domodedovo. Turkish Airlines has become the 80th partner airline of the Airport.

Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933 and now is based in Ataturk International Airport (Istanbul).

The geography of flights covers almost all the world. Turkish Airlines is intended to strengthen its leadership in civil aviation expanding its presence both in domestic and international air traffic markets. It envisages increase in number of flights on existing routes and establishment of completely new destinations.

In the sphere of international passenger traffic Turkish Airlines will expand cooperation with its Star Alliance partners and will work on attraction of transit passengers.

In 2007 Turkish Airlines was ranked as a 4 Star Airline by the Skytrax research company which is one of the most respectable auditing and consultancy agency in the world aviation industry.

The air fleet includes 133 aircraft of Airbus and Boeing. Along with improvement of on-board comfort the great importance is paid to safety which is a top priority for Turkish Airlines.

Domodedovo is the largest airport of Russia and the Eastern Europe, the number-one Russian airport in terms of passenger traffic. Its share in general volume of passenger traffic in Moscow Traffic Control Area (TMA) makes 45,3 % (calculated for 9 months of this year). In 2008 Domodedovo airport provided services for 20,4 mln. passengers.

In 2009 United Airlines, TAP, Nord Star, Nouvelair and others have made partnership with Domodedovo. At the moment the number of air carriers totals 80 including 34 foreign airlines, 30 Russian and 16 representing the CIS States which operate to/from Domodedovo in 220 destinations worldwide. The route network of airlines which are Domodedovo partners represents the unique 94 destinations for Moscow Traffic Control Area (TMA).
