OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2009. A grand opening of the first dwelling houses in neighbourhood 52 of Marfino Township located within northeastern Moscow took place on November 28. The keys to the new flats were handed over to their tenants by the local prefect Irina Raber.

According to the prefecture of Moscow’s North-Eastern Administrative District, the solemn ceremony also involved the first deputy head of the Department of Urban Development of Moscow Vladimir Khaykin, the township council representatives and other officials.

The projects for all-inclusive reconstruction of Marfino Township containing 7 neighbourhoods have been elaborated within the implementation of the urban program aimed at overhauling, updating, rebuilding and renewing the existent structures in Moscow.

The total area of the residential buildings to be developed in the neighbourhoods is expected to be 675,050 square metres. Besides, 235,970 square metres of public facilities are to be built there.

It is planned to erect 5 new kindergartens for 1050 children in Marfino Township as well. Another 3 ones will undergo reconstruction.

According to Vladimir Resin, first deputy Moscow Mayor and head of the Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow, it actually is the first big project aimed at investing in the housing construction in the Russian capital. Collaboration between the Moscow Government units and the investor allowed them to commission the houses a year and a half ahead of schedule. Therefore 847 families will move to the new flats in December.
