OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2009. President Victor Yushchenko and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took part in the Ukrainian-Brazilian business forum, reported the Official website president.gov.ua.

In his speech, Victor Yushchenko pointed to significant trade-economic cooperation potential between our countries. He expressed confidence that business forum would complement the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Brazil to Ukraine.

The President praised bilateral documents signed today. Victor Yushchenko stressed that particularly important in the context of our cooperation is the field of science and technology, strong industrial base, the development of agriculture and mineral resources extraction.

The President also stressed that most attractive for Ukraine are joint projects in aviation, particularly joint production of Ukrainian aircrafts in Brazil. Victor Yushchenko said that Ukraine offers Brazil to take advantage of our geographical location to access markets in Europe, Russia and Asia.

From his part the President of Brazil said: "First of all we want to create conditions for investment for our countries to develop and strengthen their economies and multiplied their wealth. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva stressed that he considers the current economic recession a good opportunity to strengthen our countries and our abilities.

He also expressed confidence that Ukraine and Brazil must search for new and beneficial partners themselves. We must recognize the opportunities that arise from our equal, effective, productive partnerships, Lula da Silva said.
