OREANDA-NEWS. December 4, 2009. The Saint-Petersburg Mint – Branch of Goznak has started to accept and execute orders for striking “The 65th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war 1941 – 1945” lapel badge.

“The 65th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war 1941 – 1945” lapel badge is meant to be given to participants of jubilee and official events dedicated to the Victory anniversary.

The badge was designed on the basis of the official emblem of celebrating the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war approved by Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russia.

The idea of creating the badge belongs to M. Osipov, Deputy Director of Marketing and Sales of the Saint-Petersburg Mint – Branch of Goznak.

The badge was agreed with the Head of Personnel Affairs and State Awards of the Administrative Department of the President of the Russian Federation and is the official lapel badge of the celebration.

The badge is decorated with St. George’s ribbon attached to it on all sides. According to M. Osipov, the most complicated thing of creating the badge was to fix the ribbon, because it had to be done manually.

The sketch of the badge and the commemorative medal was developed by N. Ukolov, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. The badge is meant for participants of the festive events.

It is assumed that administrative authorities of the regions will purchase the badges using the funds of the local budgets.
