OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2009. The new natural gas infeed with capacity of 15 thousand cubic meters per hour has been put in operation at Dneprospetsstal. Thus, the enterprise has completed the retrofitting program for outer gas supplying system, reported the press-centre of Dneprospetsstal.

The cost of the project is over UAH 3 million. During the work more than 3 km of gas line has been laid and the new gas-distributing point has been constructed.

The new natural gas infeed will enhance the stability of Dneprospetsstal’s power services and allow further updating of steel making and metal processing facilities.

?The new infeed allows fast operating and obtaining of declared gas limits, but above all, it allows us to plan for the future, thinking about production facilities retrofitting and energy saving technology implementing that results in cost reduction?, says Alexander Luty, Director for power engineering and revamping.

Aside from the new electric arc furnace construction in the Steel Melting Shop No 3, the case of concern is an overhaul of existing gas-consuming plants, i.e. heat treatment furnaces and pre-heating furnaces etc. Moreover, pressure stabilization in the new network will positively influence the finished product quality.

Nowadays, the gas supplying system at Dneprospetsstal consists of two enfeeds with total capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters per hour and a gas supplying facility in Zaporozhye Levoe. The new system provides the continuity of gas supplies for the shops as well as workplace safety and equipment liability.
