The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "MetallFinans" CJSC, "Sverdlvtormet" CJSC, "Metallurgichesky Holding" OJSC and "Metal-E" CJSC for the signs of violating Part 1 Article 17 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (preventing, restricting or eliminating competition in competitive bidding), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia suspects that "MetallFinans" CJSC, "Sverdlvtormet" CJSC, "Metallurgichesky Holding" OJSC and "Metal-E" CJSC violated the antimonopoly law by setting such qualifying requirements to the bidders that considerably restricted the range of persons who were able to participate in the auctions. It created preferential conditions for "Novolipetsk Steel OJSC and "VIZ-Stal" Ltd.

"Nizhneseryoginsky Hardware and Metal Works" OJSC, "Uralvtorcgermet" CJSC,"Urals Precision Alloy Works" CJSC, "Novolipetsk Steel OJSC, "VIZ-Stal" Ltd., and "SKB-Bank" OJSC are brought into the proceedings as interested persons.

The case will be heard on 14th January 2009.
