OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2009. Belarus’ household consumption spending rose 9.6% on the year in July-September 2009 to 1.165 million Belarusian rubles (Br), a representative in the National Statistics Committee.

Food accounted for 39.6% of all consumer expenditures, down 0.7 of a percentage point on the year; payments for services accounted for 22.4%, compared to 21.5% in the third quarter of 2008, of them payments for utilities made up 5.9% of all consumer expenditures, up from 5.5%. Spending on non-foods accounted for 35.9% of the total, showing no change. Alcohol accounted for 2.1% of the total spending, down from 2.3%.
