OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2009. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Sverdlovsk region (the Sverdlovsk OFAS Russia) found that "Gazpromneft-Ural" OJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (prohibiting abuse of dominance), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Sverdlovsk OFAS Russia found that "Gazpromneft-Ural" OJSC уfixed and maintained monopolistically high prices for motor petrol (grades АI-80 and АI-92) in some periods of 2008-2009 in the retail petrol market in Yekaterinburg.

Under the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations such violations are punishable by "turnover" fines.

Earlier, the Sverdlovsk OFAS Russia already made "Gazpromneft-Ural" OJSC liable for concerted actions with "Lukoil-Permnefteproduct" Ltd. (Article 101of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition"). The company lost several court hearings and transferred the fine in the amount more than 6 million Rubles to the budget.

Also on 24th November 2009, the Sverdlovsk OFAS Russia processed an antimonopoly case against "Lukoil-Permnefteproduct" Ltd. The company violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" by fixing monopolistically high prices for motor petrol (grades АI-80, АI-92, АI-95) in November 2008- March 2009 in Yekaterinburg.
