OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2009. Rostselmash has started to produce Canadian tractors VERSATILE on the territory of the combine factory in Rostov-on-Don. VERSATILE production range consists of 3 series: HHT (435–535 hp), 2000 series (335–375 hp) and Genesis (196–278 hp). It is planned to produce over 200 units in 2009 and as a long-term prospect to bring localization of tractor production up to 50% by 2015.

At the end of 2007 Rostselmash purchased Canadian tractor plant Buhler VERSATILE. Total amount of the deal equaled to 140 mln. dollars. Management of the Russian company explained their choice by production potential of the Canadian tractor plant capable of manufacturing tractors with horsepower range from 196 to 535.

“Now we can offer our customers not only high-performance combines but also heavy-duty tractors”, said Valery Maltsev, Rostselmash Director General, — “There was an intrinsic logic in merging Rostselmash and Buhler-VERSATILE as our combines complement each other perfectly. This purchase brings new development prospects for our company. New production in Russia enables agricultural producers to buy high-performance machinery on credit and with state grants. Rostselmash also guarantees after-sales service through own dealer network on the territory of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan along with quick delivery of spare parts for VERSATILE tractors”.

Talking about main advantages of VERSATILE tractors it should be mentioned that they are innovative, reliable, powerful, simple, easy to maintain and affordable. VERSATILE tractors perfectly suit grain producers who work with both conventional technologies and minimal-till and no-till technologies.
