OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2009. Freight One has given 458,600 rubles to St. Petersburg State University of Railways (PGUPS) for the purchase of educational equipment.

Realizing the high value of PGUPS not only for St. Petersburg, but for Russia as a whole, the leadership of OJSC Freight One adopted the decision to support the university.

Founded in 1809, PGUPS holds a unique place among Russian educational institutions as it is Russia’s oldest engineering university. In the 200 years since its founding, graduates of the university have always been in demand in transport, transport construction, industry and other areas of the economy. Training highly qualified specialists requires a strong technological base, which is why the funds were allocated precisely for high-tech equipment purchases.

Freight One will continue in this vein in order to support the future potential employees of the company. The company cares about the training of its personnel reserve and plans with an eye to both the short and the long term.

Previously the company had decided to provide charitable assistance to Rostov State University of Railways, giving a total of 200,000 rubles for equipment purchases in order to develop the university’s teaching and laboratory facilities.
