OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2009. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the gross value added in the economy fell by 8.3% as compared to the same period of 2008.

The gross value added formed in the sector of production of goods decreased by 19.1% due to a significant decline (23.3%) of gross value added in industry, agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishery (-10.6%). In terms of contribution to GDP formation, the share of gross value added of the sector of goods fell by 1.4 percentage points as compared with corresponding period of the previous year, having negatively affected (-4.2%) the index of physical volume of GDP.

The gross value added in the sector of services has declined by 4,5% as compared with the same period of the last year. The rates of the gross value added have significantly reduced in construction (-30.8%), transport and communications (-14.8%), wholesale and retail trade (-4.5%), whereas in other sectors of services they were 5,9% higher than at the same period of the previous year.

During the period, the contribution of the gross value added of the sector of services to GDP has increased by 1.9 percentage points, whereas the degree of its impact on the real GDP growth has declined from 3.8% in January-September 2008 up to 2,9% in January-September 2009. The national budget revenue from taxes on products has decreased by 8,4% as compared to the same period of the last year, having negatively affected (-1.5%) the index of physical volume of GDP.

In January-September 2009, the volume of domestic demand (final consumption and gross capital formation) has declined by 17.0% as compared with the same period of 2008 mainly due to the decrease in the gross fixed capital by 39,5% (total final consumption decreased by 7,2%). Exports and imports of goods and services have declined by 11,8% and 24,6%, respectively.
