OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2009. OAO TATNEFT continues reconstruction of another infrastructure object associated with the TANEKO complex of refineries and petrochemical plants under construction in Nizhnekamsk and this is a product pipeline Nizhnekamsk – Almetjevsk – Kstovo, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

The pipeline, which is a part of the Transnefteproduct company system, is intended to transfer diesel fuel in the amount of about 2.4 million tons per year from the future refinery through Almetyevsk to Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod region). Further the diesel fuel will join the petroleum product pipeline "Kstovo – Yaroslavl – Kirishi – Primorsk" ("North" project), launched in May 2008.

The scope of work has included the construction of the head pumping station in Nizhnekamsk, laying of a new 33 km long and 377 mm diameter branch to the existing product pipeline "Naberezhnye Chelny – Almetyevsk". Close to Kazan a route of three sections of a 530 mm diameter line with the total length of 28 km has been shifted to bypass the settlements Imenkovo and Mokryie Cournaly and the Kazan international airport. In addition a new route 123 km long is being laid to cover the section "Vorotynets – Kstovo" in Nizhny Novgorod region.

3 rivers and a preservation swamp Shawa (Nizhny Novgorod region) with the total length of 1720 meters have been crossed in the course of the construction. Performance of any works is prohibited at this swamp, so the pipe and its associated communications have been laid using trenchless technology with application of directional drilling for making a 600-meter long channel.

As in the case of the pipeline connecting TANECO to the oil arteries of the Customer/Developer of the product pipeline is OAO AK Transneft (Transnefteproduct is a part of this company), which designated TATNEFT company as the project Executor. Glavneftegazstroyservis Construction Company has been appointed as a general contractor.
