OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2009. A new pedestrian recreation area will take the place of Baltika cinema to be demolished in Southern Tushino, northwestern Moscow.

According to the updated Master Plan of Moscow Development scheduled till 2025, the demolition of Baltika cinema is stipulated by decree 1044-PP issued by the Moscow Government on 27 December 2006 with the view of developing the site into a pedestrian recreation area.

Due to the demolition, the 700-seat cinema and the local leisure centre will occupy not less than 4,000 square metres in a nearby retail and entertainment centre currently under construction.
