OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2009. The 5 th anniversary national ceremony of the Golden Chariot awards was held in the State Kremlin Palace ( Moscow, Russia).

Moscow Airport Domodedovo became the award winner nominated as Russian Air Transport Leader.

Diploma of the award winner and the Golden Chariot statuette were given to the airport representatives by Deputy Minister of Transport Mr Valery Okulov.

The Golden Chariot is a national public award of the Russian transport industry. It was established by the State Duma Transport Committee and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The award is given to companies representing national transport industry, its services, science, education and other related areas.

Domodedovo is the largest airport of Russia and the Eastern Europe, the number-one Russian airport in terms of passenger traffic. Its share in general volume of passenger traffic in Moscow Traffic Control Area (TMA) makes 45,3 % (calculated for 9 months of this year). In 2008 Domodedovo airport provided services for 20,4 mln. passengers.
