OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2009. Some 170 sports and health centres are to be developed in Moscow in 2 years to come.

“About 170 municipal sites have been reserved for implementing the program aimed at building sports and health centres from 2010 to 2012,” Mikhail Stepanyants, head of Physical Culture and Sports Department of Moscow, said on December 15.

According to the official, the Moscow authorities won’t abandon the plans to keep building sports and health facilities due to the financial crisis.

For example, 2 sports and health centres are to be commissioned in Southern Butovo, southwestern Moscow. One of them equipped with a swimming pool under construction on Yuzhnobutovskaya Street will open this year, another one with an ice rink will open on Chechersky Proezd in 2011.
