OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2009. Eurasian Development Bank, listing on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided KASE with a press release, reported the press-centre of KASE:

The Council of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) approved a USD385 m multi-currency 15-year credit line for implementation of a project "Construction of the third power cell at Ekibastuz GRES-2". The project aims to finance the construction of the third power cell at the 500 MW Ekibastuz GRES-2, located in Pavlodar region.

The Council made the decision in accordance with the Agreement on indicative terms to finance the construction of the third power cell entered into on November 20 in Yalta at presence of Russian Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Masimov, the Agreement was signed by EDB, Vnesheconombank, EKIBASTUZ GRES-2, Samruk-Energo and OAO INTER RAO EAS.

EDB is actively cooperating with EKIBASTUZ GRES-2, Samruk-Energo and OAO INTER RAO EAS. In particular, the bank opened USD93.5 m 10-year credit line to the GRES to help the power plant improve technical state of the power plant".
