OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2009. According to the NBU data, the amount of non-performing loans (NPL) grew by 7.4%, m/m to UAH 65.3bn in November 2009, which constitutes 8.7% of the total credit portfolio. In 11M09, the NPL amount increased by UAH 47.3bn or 3.6 times.

As Millennium Capital expected, the NPL volume kept growing in November, which, despite a slight hryvnia appreciation, forced the banks to increase their loan reserves (up 12.9%, m/m in November 2009). Millennium Capital expects that the official NPL will grow to at least 10%, until the tendency will change for an upward movement.
