Subsidiary of BTA Bank Insurance Company London-Almaty (Almaty), shares of which are present in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) official list, informed KASE that according to AFS volume of insurance premiums for 11 months of 2009 decreased by 16.4% if compared with the similar period of the last year, reported the press-centre of KASE.

According to optimistic forecasts, insurance premiums volume in 2010 will not exceed 2009 results, believes London-Almaty Board Chairman Ergali Begimbetov. Moreover it may fell by 5-15 % due to premiums decrease on voluntary property insurance. In addition, participants number of the insurance market may reduce due to licenses recall, possible mergers and acquisitions.

The collapse starter in 2008 is continuing of the insurance market. Thus, insurance premiums volume for 11 months on direct insurance dropped by 23.2%. By results of 2009 the insurance premium per capita will decrease by 18-20% and will make up KZT8,000. This indicator is close to 2006 data.

Mandatory types of insurance are less affected by the crisis and the mandatory insurance market is steadily increasing, first of all due to car mandatory insurance, where the premiums increase made up 3.3%.

From 2007 the stake of voluntary property insurance decreased from 79.9% to 60-62 % by the end of 2009. The stake of personal voluntary insurance in 2007 made up 6.9% is increasing and by the end of 2009 will make up 10-12%. Mandatory types of insurance from 13.1% in 2007 by the end of 2009 will make up 27-29%.

London-Almaty activities results show that average monthly premiums in January-October of 2009 made up KZT135.89 m - by 5% higher if compared with the last year indicator (KZT129.96 m). Insurance premiums if compared with the last year similar period grew by 10%. Today London-Almaty is fully the market company developing in 7 regions of Kazakhstan.
