OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2009. Another round of “Ingostrakh - Olympic Hopes” international child hockey tournament, held since 2005 under the auspices of the “Legends of USSR Hockey” hockey club and Ingosstrakh OJSIC, has taken place in Moscow.

Although over 150 teams from USA, Hungary, Canada, Japan, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Germany, the Czech Republic and Russia took part in the tournament in the course of its history, the victorious Olympic Hopes Cup has never left Moscow, as it has been invariably awarded to the TsSKA team. Nor did the tradition fail this time, as the final competition saw the TsSKA boys beat the Moscow Spartak team by a score of 10-0. The third prize went to “Centre” Hockey Club. The prizes were handed to the winners and participants of the tournament by Heroes of Russia Sergey Shoygu, Head of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense Affairs, Emergencies, and Liquidation of Consequences of Natural Disasters, Yuri Vorobyov, first Deputy Emergencies Minister, and Sergey Makarov, two-time Olympic champion, a legend of the Russian hockey.

The next phase of “Ingostrakh - Olympic Hopes” tournament with over 30 teams from various countries will take place in Moscow in the beginning of May.

Ingosstrakh has traditionally supported Russian sports by strengthening long-term cooperation with various sports federations, clubs and societies. “Olympic Hopes” is a unique project to develop child hockey, promote a healthy lifestyle, raise a new generation continuing in the footsteps of Soviet and Russian hockey players. The tournament is arranged by the Russian Amateur Hockey Support and Development Fund named after three-time Olympic champion V.G. Kuzkin and USSR Hockey Legends Hockey Club.
