OREANDA-NEWS. January 6, 2010. Spacecraft assembling and testing facility will be built in Astana, the press service of the Majilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament) informs.

Draft Law “On ratification of the Agreement on conditions of establishment and usage of space system of the Earth remote sensing and spacecrafts assembling and tasting complex between the Governments of Kazakhstan and France” was submitted to the Majilis.

In accordance with the Agreement, signed on October 6, 2009, the high-tech facility for assembling and testing of the spacecrafts of various applications will be established in Astana.

The project of space remote sensing includes the satellite development of high and medium resolution and all necessary ground infrastructures. The images obtained with the help of such system are useful in various areas: defense, national security, land tenure, agriculture and emergency situations. The complex will be a basic element of the emerging space industry of Kazakhstan's state.
