OREANDA-NEWS. January 8, 2010. 17th million ton of oil was pumped through Atyrau-Samara section of "Uzen-Atyrau-Samara" pipeline.

Such record figure was reached from the beginning of the current year. Earlier annual volume of oil transportation through the given section did not exceed this threshold (according to results of 2008 16 mln. 770 thou. tons were pumped through Atyrau-Samara section).

Such high results were achieved thanks to use of anti-turbulent additives at Kazakhstan and Russian section of "Atyrau-Samara" pipeline. Earlier, in September 2008, for the purposes of determining existing maximal transit capacity of the "Atyrau-Samara" pipeline, industrial tests were conducted with the use of different proportions of anti-turbulent additives. The tests demonstrated that usage of anti-turbulent additives can ensure increase of volume of transportation and receiving additional tariff revenue for JSC "KazTransOil" and JSC "Transneft". Taking into account the results of the conducted works, in February 2009, in Moscow the General Director (Chair of the Management Board), Nurbol Sultan, and the President of JSC "Transneft", Nikolay Tokarev, signed Protocol on the issue of transit of oil providing for transportation of not less than 17,5 mln. tons of Kazakhstan oil through section of "Atyrau-Samara" oil pipeline in 2009. As of today there is confidence that this objective will be implemented.

According to factual results for 11 months JSC "KazTransOil" increased volume of oil transportation for 7%.

The volume of transportation of oil through the system of main pipelines of JSC "KazTransOil" for 11 months 2009 comprised 46 mln. 360 thou. tons. In comparison with the same period of 2008 the volume of transportation grew for 3 mln. 053 thou. tons (factual for 11 months of 2008 was 43 mln. 307 thou. tons).

The cargo turnover through the system of main pipelines of JSC "KazTransOil" for 11 months of 2009 was calculated to be 30 billion 609 mln. tons km. In comparison with the same period of last year the oil cargo turnover increased for 998 mln. tons km (factual for 11 months of 2008 comprised 29 billion 612 mln. tons km.).

15 mln. 982 thou. tons of oil were pumped through "Uzen-Atyrau-Samara" oil pipeline during 11 months of the current year. In comparison with the same period of 2008, the volume of transportation of oil grew for 663 thou.tons (factual for 11 months of 2008 comprised 15 mln. 320 thou. tons of oil).

The volume of oil transfer to "Atasu-Alashankou" oil pipeline during the reporting period comprised 7 mln. 017 thou. tons. In comparison with the same period of 2008 the given indicator increased for 1 mln. 453 thou.tons (factual for 11 months of 2008 comprised 5 mln. 563 thou.tons).

Transit of the Russian oil through the section of "TON-2" oil pipeline, located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, upon results of 11 months of 2009 comprised 4 mln. 853 thou. tons, which is 340 thou.tons higher than the indicator of the same period of 2008 (factual for 11 months of 2008 comprised 4 mln. 513 thou. tons of oil).

In the past period significant increase (8 mln. 548 thou. tons) of oil loading to tankers at GOPS Aktau for further transportation through the Caspian Sea was noticed. The given indicator exceeds the result of 11 months of 2008 for 1 mln. 797 thou. tons, or 27%. Such high indicators were achieved thanks to organizational activities held by JSC "KazTransOil" on improvement of the process on unloading of oil from railway cisterns.
