OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. Work on creation of Coordination Councils of 6 international customs stations is complete in Karelia. By the order of the Government of Karelia the following representatives of authority of the republic are appointed members of Councils: Mikhail Yurinov, Minister of Economic Development of the republic, is appointed a member of Coordination Council of Wärtsilä international automobile customs station and a member of Coordination Council of Wärtsilä railway customs station, Lev Shustov, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia is appointed a member of Coordination Council of Petrozavodsk Airport customs station; Mark Orlov, Minister of Natural Resources of Karelia, is appointed a member of Coordination Council of Lyttд international automobile customs station and a member of Coordination Council of of Lyttä railway customs station. Nikolay Skresanov, Deputy Minister of Construction of the Republic of Karelia, is appointed a member of Coordination Council of Suoperд international international automobile customs station.

The Council of every customs station also includes representatives of the Karelian Customs, Administration of the Federal Transportation Inspection Service, North-Western Customs Administration of the State Border of the Russian Federation, Boundary service, units for veterinary and phytosanitary supervision.

Establishing of Coordination Councils in all customs stations is stipulated by corresponding order of the Government of Russia. This work is conducted by the North-Western Territorial Administration of the State Border of the Russian Federation.

The basic purpose of activity of these Councils is increasing the level of economic security of the country and creation of favorable conditions for development of foreign economic relations, international and frontier cooperation.

Coordination Councils will analyze work of customs stations, develop offers on perfection of regulatory and legal framework and material and technical basis, arrangement and other issues, also Councils prepare offers on perfection of technological schemes, rules of regulations, arrangement for cooperation between the supervising bodies.

Sessions of Councils will be held no less often than once in three months. Sessions of Coordination Councils in their new strength are scheduled for the beginning of 2010. Items on the agenda include adoption of Regulations on Councils and approval of new technological schemes of vehicular, freight and natural persons' traffic over the state border.
