OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2010. JSC “Zaporozhtransformator” (ZTR) has been awarded with a tender for delivery of the equipment for new substations in Kazakhstan Republic, to be constructed on the occasion of holding of Winter Olympic Games 2011 (“Aziada” 2011”).

ZTR will supply transformers for two substations: s/s Novaya – 2 transformers rated for 16 MVA, 110 kV, and for s/s Yermensay – 2 transformers rated for 250 MVA, 220 kV, 2 transformers rated for 40 MVA, 10 kV.

“There was no so complicated tender for a long period of time: it has been conducted in two stages; and too high requirements have been demanded to the equipment suppliers and delivery terms. Also a tough competitiveness took place. The Chinese company TBEA was the main and the principal competitor of ZTR plant, noted Tatyana Samaretz, Director of JSC “ZTR” Representative Office in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. – Great difficulties occurred at a stage of contract signing. One of the requirements was pledging of the bank securities of the first-rate European Bank having rating at least as BBB as referred to Moody’s Investors Services. But owing to mutual efforts of JSC “ZTR” representative office, managers and departments of the factory, the guarantees have been provided in due time. The transformer equipment is scheduled to be shipped February 2010.”
