OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2010. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reports that instead of the summit it has been organized a high-level energy conference.

Instead of the leaders of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania whose participation was expected in the summit, the conference will involve some prime ministers and other high-ranking governmental officials of 10 countries, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, the Baltic states, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

They will discuss issues of energy security, development of South Caucasus energy corridor, etc. A day before the workgroups gathered for a meeting in Tbilisi a day before to prepare memorandums for signing by their countries’ heads (but signing of the memorandums did not take place).
