OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2010. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in January-December 2009 food prices decreased by 3,8%, while prices for the non-foodstuffs increased by 2,5%, while prices for services provided to population grew by 2,2%.

In December 2009, as compared to the previous month, inflation in Moldova made 0,9%, while for 11 months of 2009 the deflation of 0,5% was registered. Food prices in December 2009 increased by 1,7%, prices for industrial goods and tariffs for services rendered to population grew by 0,5%.

According to NBS, in December 2009, the price increase was registered for grapes - 27.6% and fresh vegetables -11,6%. The price of garlic grew by 30,5%, tomatoes - by 28,9%, cucumbers - by 11,8%. Prices for potatoes increased by 4,3%, milk - by 3,3%, fresh fish - by 2,5%. At the same time, prices for the fresh fruits have decreased by 0,9%, including bananas- 2,4% and citruses -1,7%.

The prices of the diet eggs reduced by 0,6%, vegetable oil – by 0,2%. At the same time, in December 2009 the prices grew at the top women's clothing - by 5,1% and hats - 4,5% as well as fur products - 3,9%. The prices for the majority of the non-food prices remained practically the same. Among the services provided to population, the greatest growth in December was registered for the tourist services - by 6,7%, rail transportation and catering services - by 3,5%.

At the same time, in December prices fell for the services on the buildings’ repair-by 0,8%. It should be noted that in 2008 the inflation rate in Moldova amounted to 7,3%. In 2010 the Moldovan government forecasts inflation of 5%.
