OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2010. TBC Bank has announced about launching the annual Saba literary awards. The eighth competition will be held in June 2010 and the best literary works and the best authors of 2009 will be revealed. The organizational group, which is located at TBC Bank’s Head Office, started its work today. 

Submitting of books to Literary Award Saba will last till February 10. All literary works published within 2009 are considered for the awards, including novels, prosaic collections, collections of poems and plays, as well as Georgian translations of foreign works, literary critics and documentary prose. 

Traditionally, Saba literary awards are granted in the following nominations:

1. Best novel of the year

2. Best collection of poems of the year

3. Best prose work of the year

4. Best translation of the year

5. Best play of the year

6. Best literary critic, essays and documentary prose of the year

7. Best debut of the year

8. Award for special contribution to development of Georgian literature

Apart from special prizes, the winners will receive monetary awards. The entire funds amount to GEL 36 thousand. The winners will be awarded by TBC Bank.

Those publishers and authors, who published books within 2009 by the above mentioned nominations, should submit the following information to the organizers of the event: name of the book, author and publishing house.
