OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2010. Ingosstrakh OJSIC paid out the first tranche to the customer according to its share under obligatory property reinsurance contract in the amount of 4 million rubles for destroyed reserves of oil.

In August 2009, at one of the facilities of Sibnefteprovod OJSC, the state-owned oil transportation company (that is a subsidiary of Transneft OJSC), in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, a reservoir with crude oil was set on catastrophic fire because of a lightning stroke. This resulted in explosion of a neighboring reservoir and destruction by fire of four more reservoirs and equipment.

At the moment, the appointed surveyor, MatthewsDaniel, continues to assess damages; according to preliminary data, 100% of insurance compensation under the insurance contract may amount to 650 million rubles and will be paid in several tranches as expenses for recovery of the insurant’s property will be calculated.
