OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. 32 parking facilities with the total capacity of around 6,000 vehicles will be under construction in eastern Moscow this year within the Narodnyy Garazh program.

Besides, roughly 4,000 parking places included in 17 car parks being developed since last year are scheduled to be commissioned in 2010. There will also be 12 car parks designed to accommodate around 2,000 vehicles in seven townships located within eastern Moscow – Veshnyaki, Goliyanovo, Ivanovsky, Metrogorodok, Perovo, Sokolinaya Gora and Sokolniki. Another five parking garages with the total capacity of roughly 2,000 vehicles will be open in Kozhukhovo neighbourhood included in Kosino-Ukhtomsky Township.

According to the local prefecture, almost all of parking spaces under construction in the seven townships mentioned above are sold out while 80 per cent of them have already been paid by their future owners.

The prefect of Moscow’s eastern district, Nikolay Evtikhiev, emphasized that Moscow's city authorities would carry out all their obligations to solve a shortage of parking spaces in the district.

The basic principles of the Narodnyy Garazh program are a fixed price for the parking space – 350,000 roubles (~USD 11,670), the parking space passes into the ownership of its buyer, the car park is located within easy walking distance of the buyer’s residence.
