OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2010. About 20 passenger buses in the city of Tbilisi, Georgia, are equipped with the navigation system which uses GLONASS and GPS signals.

The information about this modification was revealed in early 2009. The city’s administration believes that the satellite capabilities will improve passenger service quality, facilitate bus route monitoring, etc.

The equipment is delivered by a Russian-Armenian company. The company produces combined GLONASS/GPS receivers. According to the officials, selection of the project contractor is pending test completion of the equipment.
