OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2010. Belarusian Steel Works is set to deliver 1,000 tonnes of oil and gas pipelines to Russia’s Rosneft oil company by 1 April 2010.

73mmx5.5m pipelines are made especially for upgrading oil wells. The delivery will consist of four stages. The first batch of 200-tonne steelwork was shipped to the RN-Service (Rosneft subsidiary) in December 2009. The second consignment (200 tons) will be delivered by late January. Two more batches (300 tons each) will be delivered in February and March.

According to the specialists, it is the first large contract on the delivery of oil and gas pipelines to the Rosneft Company. The Russian company imposed quite heavy demands. The major of them is a 100% ultrasound quality control of the ready-made products. This requirement will be met in full as the tube-rolling shop of Belarusian Steel Works built in 2007 has the latest ultrasound equipment.

The Company is primarily engaged in exploration and production of hydrocarbons, production of petroleum products and petrochemicals, and marketing of outputs. Rosneft has been included in the Russian Government’s List of Strategic Enterprises and Organizations. The state holds 75.16% in the company.
