OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2010. Unsold inventories of Belarusian Industrial companies decreased 9.6% in December to 5.465 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of January 1, 2010, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Overstocks were at 67.9% of the average monthly production volume as of January 1, 2010, down from 75.7% on December 1, 2009. On January 1, 2009, inventories were at 61.1% of the average monthly output.

Inventories fell almost in all industries.

Inventories of engineering and metalworking companies decreased 12% on the month in December to 2.557 trillion rubles, of fuel companies 4.8% to 30 billion rubles, and of chemical and petrochemical companies fell 7.6% to 471 billion rubles.

Ferrous metal companies reported a 7.7% decrease in stocks to 76 billion rubles; woodworking and paper industry companies’ inventories went down 10.4% to 237 billion rubles.

Inventories of construction materials companies went down 2.5% in December to 228 billion rubles, inventories of food-making companies decreased 7.2% to 1.111 trillion rubles, and of light industry companies 5.9% to 516 billion rubles.

In December, inventories of televisions fell 51.7% to 23,400 units, and of tractors 26.2% to 3,100 units.

Inventories of trucks went down 1.7% to 3,690 units, of chemical fibers fell 8.3% to 5,500 tonnes, and of washers fell 50.9% to 2,800 units.

Inventories of cement rose 1.7% to 42,700 tonnes, of sugar 21.9% to 247,200 tonnes.
