OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation for the signs of violation of Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a petition of the Federal Fishery Agency.

FAS Russia suspects that the the Ministry of Agriculture violated the antimonopoly law by passing normative acts that can prevent, restrict or eliminate competition.

The case against the Ministry of Agriculture will be heard on 24th February 2010.

"In course of case investigation, the Antimonopoly Service will inspect whether the Orders issued by the Ministry of Agriculture raise administrative barriers for economic entities involved in fishery", said Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovsky, Deputy Head of FAS Russia.
