OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, this was due to the decline in production at enterprises of mining industry - by 32,1%, processing industry – by 24,3%, energy sector - by 1,5%.

Decline in volume of the industrial output was due to the reduction in production at enterprises producing shoes – by 49,1%, non-metallic mineral products - by 40,4%, processing and canning of fruits and vegetables - by 32,3%, production of paper and cardboard - by 29,9%, rubber and plastic products - by 29,6%, textile products - 26%.

Furniture production has decreased by 24%, wine - by 21,2%, distilled alcoholic beverages - by 27.1%. Production, processing and preserving of meat and meat products has decreased by 20%, production of clothing - by 12,8%, chemical products - by 9,6%, dairy products - by 9,3%.

The NBS notes that the decline in these sectors is connected with marketing problems, in particular, the decrease in number of orders from foreign and local companies, as well as shortage of raw materials, finance, etc.

At the same time, in 2009, Moldova had increased the production of poultry meat – by 1,6 times, ready animal fodder- by 40,5%, plastic products - by 17,7%, tobacco goods- by 16,2%, knitted products- by 9,9%, machinery and electrical equipment - by 9,2%.
